Before a GLIDE driver can accept a trip, they pass a Checkr background check (criminal history and driving record), a selfie ID check and document checks — and their application is reviewed by GLIDE staff.
A driver can't go online until every one of these checks is complete and the application is approved.
Run by our screening partner Checkr: an SSN trace, national and county criminal record searches (7-year history), the sex offender registry and global watchlists. Any result that needs a closer look is reviewed individually by GLIDE staff before a decision is made.
Drivers upload their driver's license, vehicle registration and insurance (plus an inspection where required). Each document is read automatically to check names, dates and expiry against the application, then reviewed by GLIDE staff.

As part of the Checkr screening, we review the driver's driving record — license status, suspensions, DUIs and other serious violations.
Drivers take a live selfie that is matched to their profile using automated face matching (Face++). It isn't a one-time check: while driving, the app asks for a new selfie about once every 24 hours, so the person behind the wheel is the person who was approved.
Every application is reviewed by GLIDE staff before the account is activated. A driver can only go online once all checks are complete.
Approval is just the start. Active drivers keep confirming their identity with selfie checks, their ratings are watched after every trip, and the app enforces rest breaks so no one drives too long.
Based on a driver's last 100 ratings (once they have at least 10): below 4.30 the account is reviewed, and below 4.00 it may be suspended. How ratings work
Riders and drivers can report a concern from the app during or after a trip, and GLIDE safety staff review it. In an emergency, Emergency SOS calls 911 and shares your live location with our safety team.
A driver's account can be suspended while a safety report is looked into, and drivers who break our safety rules are removed from GLIDE.
Every GLIDE driver is screened and approved before they can accept a ride.
