Frequently asked questions

How do I book my first ride?

Open the GLIDE Rider app — get the Android app, or use it in any phone browser (on iPhone, use Safari). Create your free account, enter your destination, choose a ride type, and confirm. You'll see the full price before you book.

How long does driver approval take?

Apply online, upload your documents and complete a Checkr background check. Documents are checked automatically and reviewed by GLIDE staff; how long it takes depends mostly on how quickly your background check comes back.

How do I get paid as a driver?

GLIDE pays out automatically every Monday to your bank account through Stripe. You can also use Instant Pay to cash out to a debit card in minutes, up to 5 times a day, for a 1.5% fee, min $0.85.

Can I cancel a ride after booking?

Yes. Cancelling is free within 2 minutes of requesting. After that, the fee is $3.00 once a driver has accepted, or $5.00 once your driver is on the way or has arrived — see Pricing & fees for your market. If your driver cancels, you're never charged.

What payment methods are accepted?

GLIDE accepts credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay (all through Stripe), plus PayPal. More about payments.

What if I have a safety concern during a trip?

If you're in immediate danger, call 911. In the app, press and hold the SOS button: the GLIDE safety team is alerted with your live location, and you can call 911 or your emergency contact with one tap.
