Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 9, 2026 · Last Updated: October 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Lotenix Technology LLC ("Glide", "we", "us", or "our"), the operator of the Glide platform, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website (glide-ride.com), Rider App, or Driver App (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address, mobile phone number, profile photo, and password. Passwords are stored only as a salted one-way hash, never in readable form.
  • Ride and account settings: saved places, favorite drivers, ride preferences (for example quiet ride, temperature, help with bags), Trip PIN setting, text size, and, if you create one, a business profile (work email, payment method and expense notes).
  • Driver information: date of birth, home address, Social Security Number, driver's license, vehicle details (make, model, year, color, plate), vehicle registration, proof of insurance, vehicle inspection (where required), a profile photo, and live selfies for identity checks (see Section 1.4). Your Social Security Number is used to verify your identity, run your background check and prevent duplicate accounts; it is kept in our access-restricted database, is never shown to riders, and GLIDE staff see only the last four digits.
  • Payment information: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal payments, and driver payout details (bank account or debit card), are collected and processed by our payment processors Stripe and PayPal. Full card and bank account numbers go directly to them and are not received or stored by GLIDE. We keep limited details such as card brand, the last four digits, and records of charges, refunds, tips and payouts.
  • Communications and reports: in-app chat messages between riders and drivers, Help & Support conversations, contact-form messages, ratings and comments, and safety reports you file.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location data: precise GPS location. For riders, while you set a pickup point, request a ride, and during your trip. For drivers, whenever you are online in the Driver app (including when the app is in the background) and during trips. We use it to match rides, show live tracking, calculate fares, run safety features such as RideCheck and Emergency SOS, and keep trip records.
  • Device information: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, crash and error logs, and a push-notification token for your device.
  • Trip data: pickup and drop-off locations, stops, route taken, fare and fee breakdown, distance, duration, wait time, ratings, tips, tolls, and cancellation history.
  • Information stored on your device: the apps and website keep your login session and preferences in your browser's or phone's local storage. See our Cookie Policy.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Background check results from Checkr, Inc. (driver applicants and drivers only), including criminal history and motor vehicle (driving) records, obtained with your authorization.
  • Identity verification results from Face++ (a match score comparing your live selfie with your profile photo).
  • Document-reading results from Google Cloud Vision and Groq (text read from the driver documents you upload).
  • Payment and payout results from Stripe and PayPal (for example whether a payment was authorized, captured or refunded).

1.4 Biometric Information (Drivers Only)

To make sure the person driving is the person who was approved, drivers take a live selfie in the Driver app before going online (currently about once every 24 hours). We send that selfie and your verified profile photo to Face++, which compares the two faces and returns a match score. This comparison relies on facial geometry, which is considered biometric information under some laws.

  • Purpose: driver identity verification and fraud prevention only. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we do not sell, lease or trade it.
  • Sharing: face photos are shared only with Face++ for the purpose of performing the match. If a match is unclear, trained GLIDE staff review the photos manually. Face photos are never shown to riders other than your normal profile photo.
  • Retention: your profile photo used as the reference is kept while your driver account is active and is deleted when your driver account is closed, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Individual selfie-check photos are deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Riders are not asked for biometric information.

1.5 Driver Documents

When drivers upload documents (driver's license, registration, insurance, inspection), the images are read automatically by Google Cloud Vision (optical character recognition) and Groq (an AI model that picks out fields such as name, address, expiration date and plate number), so we can check them against your application. GLIDE staff review the results and make the final decision; documents are not approved or rejected by automated means alone.

1.6 Trip Audio Recordings (Opt-In)

Riders and drivers can choose to turn on trip audio recording in the app. It is off unless you turn it on. When on:

  • Audio is recorded on your phone during the trip and encrypted on the phone as it is recorded. Not even you can play it back, and GLIDE cannot access it while it stays on your phone.
  • Recordings stay on your phone and are automatically deleted after 7 days, unless you file a safety report for that trip.
  • If you file a safety report, the encrypted recording is uploaded to GLIDE. Only authorized GLIDE safety staff can decrypt and listen to it, and only to review the report. Uploaded recordings are deleted after 90 days, unless we must keep them longer for a legal claim, law enforcement request, or as required by law.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide the Service: matching riders with drivers, calculating fares, processing payments, dispatching trips.
  • To verify driver eligibility and identity through background checks, document review, and selfie identity checks.
  • To maintain safety: Trip PIN, RideCheck, Emergency SOS, detecting fraud, investigating incidents and safety reports, and supporting emergency responders.
  • To communicate: sending receipts, ride updates, push notifications, account and security messages (such as password-reset emails), support responses, and (with your consent) promotional messages.
  • To improve the Service: analyzing usage patterns and aggregate trip data.
  • To comply with legal obligations: tax reporting, law enforcement requests with valid legal process, regulatory filings (e.g., Maryland Public Service Commission TNC reporting).

3. How We Share Information

3.1 Between Riders and Drivers

To facilitate a trip, riders see the driver's first name, photo, vehicle make/model/color/plate, rating, and live location during the ride. Drivers see the rider's first name, photo, rating, and pickup/dropoff. Phone numbers are masked through Twilio relay — neither party sees the other's real number. Last names, full addresses, and payment details are never shared between riders and drivers. On a Glide Share ride, riders sharing the car may see each other's first name and the order of stops.

If you choose to share your trip status with friends or family, the people you share with can see your driver and vehicle details and your live trip location until the trip ends. If you use Emergency SOS, we share your live location and trip details with the GLIDE safety team and may share them with 911 and other emergency responders.

3.2 Service Providers

We share information with vendors who help us operate the Service, only to the extent each needs it:

  • Stripe, Inc. — card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments, and driver payouts (Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified)
  • PayPal Holdings, Inc. — PayPal payments
  • Checkr, Inc. — driver background checks (criminal history and driving record)
  • Face++ (MEGVII) — selfie face matching for driver identity checks (biometric; see Section 1.4)
  • Google LLC (Google Cloud Vision) and Groq, Inc. — automated reading of driver documents
  • Twilio Inc. — text messages (SMS) and masked phone calls between riders and drivers
  • Twilio SendGrid — email delivery (receipts, password-reset links, account messages)
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications to the apps
  • Mapbox, Inc. and Google LLC (Google Maps) — maps, address search, routing, navigation and traffic data
  • MongoDB, Inc. (MongoDB Atlas) — database hosting
  • DigitalOcean, LLC — application server hosting
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — website delivery and security

These vendors are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising.

3.2a Text Messages (SMS) and Your Mobile Number

If you give us your mobile number, we use it to send ride updates, receipts, account and security messages (such as password-reset notices), and fare-split invitations you ask us to send. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the SMS provider (Twilio) that delivers the messages for us. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when required by law (subpoena, court order, regulatory request) or when necessary to investigate fraud, protect safety, or enforce our Terms.

3.4 Business Transfers

If Lotenix Technology LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer to the successor entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain trip records, ratings, and payment records for 7 years to comply with tax, legal, and dispute-resolution obligations. Account information is retained while your account is active and for up to 90 days after deletion. Background check reports are retained per FCRA requirements. In addition:

  • Driver face photos: the reference profile photo is kept while the driver account is active and deleted when it is closed, unless the law requires otherwise; selfie-check photos are deleted after 30 days.
  • Trip audio recordings: deleted from your phone after 7 days; recordings uploaded with a safety report are deleted after 90 days (unless needed for a legal claim or required by law).
  • Password reset links: expire after 30 minutes and can be used only once.

5. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, hashed passwords, role-based access control, and regular security review. Password reset links are sent only to the email address on your account, work once, and expire after 30 minutes. Optional trip audio recordings are encrypted on your phone before they are ever uploaded. No system is perfectly secure; promptly notify us of any suspected unauthorized access at [email protected].

6. Your Rights

You may:

  • Access and update your account information in the app.
  • Ask us to delete your account and personal information in the app, by emailing us, or at glide-ride.com/delete-account (some records must be kept as described in Section 4).
  • Request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
  • Opt out of promotional communications at any time.
  • Disable location sharing through your device settings (note: this prevents you from requesting or providing rides).
  • Turn trip audio recording on or off, and choose your Trip PIN setting, at any time in the app.
  • Turn off push notifications in your device settings, or reply STOP to stop text messages.

California residents have additional rights described in our CCPA Notice.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will update this Policy as the Service evolves. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice 30 days before taking effect.
