These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Glide platform, including the Glide website (glide-ride.com), Rider mobile application, and Driver mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Lotenix Technology LLC, a Maryland limited liability company doing business as Glide ("Glide", "we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and not be barred from using the Service under applicable law. To drive on the platform, you must additionally be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license, use a vehicle that is 10 years old or newer with current registration and insurance (and inspection where required), pass our background check and identity verification, and meet the other driver requirements shown in the Driver app and on our Drive with GLIDE page.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account, and to keep that information up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
Glide is a technology platform that connects riders requesting transportation with independent contractor drivers willing to provide it. Glide does not itself provide transportation services. Drivers are independent contractors, not employees, agents, partners, or joint venturers of Glide.
Riders authorize Glide and its payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) to charge their selected payment method for ride fares, applicable fees, tips, and any other amounts owed under these Terms. All amounts are in U.S. Dollars. When you book, we place a hold on your payment method for the upfront price; the charge is captured when the trip ends. Card details are handled by Stripe and PayPal and are not stored on Glide's servers.
Upfront price. You see the total price before you confirm a ride. That is the price you pay, unless you add a stop, change your destination, or the driver waits beyond the free waiting time. The upfront price is made up of the fare for your ride type plus the following, where they apply:
There is no subscription and there are no hidden fees. Tips are optional, and 100% of every tip goes to the driver.
Current rates and fees. Fares, booking fees, airport fees, wait-time fees, cancellation and no-show fees, and the busy-time maximum can differ by market and change from time to time. The rates in force — with the date they took effect — are published on the Pricing & Fees page, and every fee that applies to your ride is shown in the GLIDE app before you book. A ride is always charged under the rates in force when you booked it, never under a later change.
Driver earnings. Drivers receive the driver share of the fare published on the Pricing & Fees page and in the Driver app for completed rides (calculated on the fare before the booking fee and government fees), 100% of tips, reimbursement of tolls, the same share of any cancellation or no-show fee, and any bonuses earned under the terms shown in the Driver app. The pay shown on a ride offer is the amount the driver is paid for that ride. Earnings are paid out automatically every Monday to the driver's bank account through Stripe (minimum balance $5.00). Where available, drivers may instead cash out with Instant Pay to an eligible debit card for the fee and daily limit shown in the Driver app before each cash-out; if the card cannot receive instant payouts, the money is sent by standard payout with no fee.
Cancellation and no-show fees are shared using the same driver/platform share that applies to fares, as shown on the current Pricing & Fees page and in the Driver app. These rules are applied by our servers and cannot be changed in the app. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us through in-app Help & Support; refunds are handled by Glide support.
When you choose Glide Share, you may share the car with another rider going the same way. You pay the upfront Glide Share price whether or not anyone else joins your ride. Your trip may include small detours to pick up or drop off other riders, so it may take longer than a private ride. Each rider has their own price, payment, receipt and rating. Please be considerate of other riders and their belongings.
Trip PIN. When Trip PIN applies to your ride, you must tell the driver your 4-digit PIN before the trip can start. Trip PIN is on by default at night (9 pm to 6 am) and can be set to always on or off in the Rider app. Drivers must not start a trip without the correct PIN when one is required.
Safety features. The apps include live trip tracking, trip sharing with people you choose, RideCheck (which may check in with you if a trip stops unexpectedly for a long time or goes off route), and an Emergency SOS button. These tools support, but do not replace, emergency services. In an emergency, call 911.
Trip audio recordings. Riders and drivers may turn on optional audio recording. Recordings are encrypted on the device, are automatically deleted from the phone after 7 days, and are uploaded to Glide only if you file a safety report. Only authorized Glide safety staff can listen to an uploaded recording, and it is deleted after 90 days unless we must keep it longer for legal reasons. You are responsible for using recording in compliance with applicable law, and recordings may not be used to harass or publicly expose another person. See our Privacy Policy for details.
You agree not to: (a) violate any law; (b) harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users; (c) damage vehicles or property; (d) bring weapons, controlled substances, or hazardous materials into vehicles; (e) interfere with the Service or attempt to gain unauthorized access; (f) impersonate another person; (g) misuse safety features (e.g., false SOS triggers).
By applying to drive on Glide, you authorize Lotenix Technology LLC and its designated consumer reporting agency (currently Checkr, Inc.) to conduct background investigations including criminal history, motor vehicle records, identity verification, and sex offender registry checks, in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.) and applicable state laws. Drivers also agree to (a) automated reading of the documents they upload, with final review by Glide staff, and (b) periodic selfie identity checks, in which a live selfie is compared with the driver's profile photo by our identity-verification provider, as described in our Privacy Policy.
The Service, including all software, designs, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks, is the property of Lotenix Technology LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose only.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GLIDE'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO GLIDE IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS, OR (B) $100 USD.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lotenix Technology LLC, its officers, members, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property claims. Class actions are waived to the maximum extent permitted by law. Arbitration will take place in Maryland unless otherwise required by applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion for violations of these Terms, fraud, safety incidents, repeated cancellations, low ratings, or as required by law. You may close your account at any time by contacting us through in-app Help & Support or by email.
