When you request a ride, GLIDE offers it to the nearest suitable driver first. Your favorite drivers get the first chance when they’re nearby, Glide Share pairs you with riders going your way, and you’re never moved to a smaller ride than you asked for.
Here’s what happens when you request a ride on GLIDE.
Enter your destination and pick a ride type. You see your upfront price before you confirm.
GLIDE finds online drivers with the right vehicle for your ride type, closest to your pickup first.
The nearest suitable driver (or a nearby favorite) gets your request. If they pass, the next driver is offered.
Track your driver live on the map with an ETA, and see their name, photo, car and plate.
GLIDE doesn’t use a secret score. These are the rules it follows when offering your ride.
Choose Glide Share and GLIDE can match you with another rider whose trip goes your way. You pay less than Glide Go on a typical trip, and your price is set upfront whether or not anyone joins.
Every driver who can receive your request has passed a Checkr background check (criminal and driving record) and regular selfie ID checks.
As soon as a driver accepts, you see their live location on the map and an ETA to your pickup.
Your price is shown before you book, including any busy-time pricing. It only changes if you add a stop, change your destination or keep your driver waiting.
Message your driver in the app to coordinate pickup, or call them — phone numbers stay hidden on both sides.
You enter your destination, see your upfront price and tap confirm. GLIDE starts looking for a driver right away.
Online drivers with the right vehicle are put in order, nearest first. A favorite driver who is close by moves to the front.
The first driver in line sees your request, with the pickup, trip and their pay. If they don’t accept within about 15 seconds, the next driver is offered.
You see your driver’s name, photo, car, plate, rating and live location, with an ETA to your pickup.
Open the GLIDE Rider app on Android or in any phone browser, and book your ride. GLIDE is launching across the Baltimore–Washington area.
